A Pocketfull of Regrets- Part 1

“We regret the things we don’t do more than the things we do”

I observed him carefully as he walked towards the door. I knew that time was running out but suppressed the urge to check my watch. I took a deep breath and started counting in reverse under my breath “Ten…… Nine…….Eight…” He looked back as if he wanted to say something or expected me to and our eyes met. His brown melted into my black and I knew you could fall in love at first sight for a second time.

“Say It” I thought to myself. You still have time. I knew that he knew how I felt and that he wanted me to say it.”Stop’ I shouted as I ran to the door. “That night in the library, hypothetically speaking, if I said “I love you” what would have been your answer?” He smiled sadly “Hypothetically speaking, I would have said “I love you too””. He planted a kiss on my cheek and left. And then I knew another thing, you could get your heart broken twice.
